How should I walk to see the present, mindfully?

At the beach a few days ago I did a walking meditation, noticing that while walking forward  my eyes are seeing where I will be going in the future. I then tried mindfully walking backwards noticing that while walking backwards my eyes are seeing where I was in the past. My question is how, then, should I walk to see the present, mindfully?

Please, post your answers!
