Annie Shackelford
Therapist and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy Teacher
Annie Shackelford is a mindful psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience specializing in life transitions, acute/chronic illness, women's health, fertility and relationship challenges. While trained in psychodynamic theory, she incorporates CBT and mindfulness work as a MBCT Qualified instructor.
She has been in private practice for the past 4 years, settling into individual care after several years in the acute care setting at Northwestern Memorial in Chicago and NY Presbyterian Hospital. She uses her skills and experience from the past to combine them with the powerful transformation that meditation and mindfulness have to offer. She has studied under renowned experienced teachers, Susan Woods, LCSW and Donald Fleck, DCSW. Annie has a daily meditation and mindfulness practice and has found that once you learn to incorporate these skills into your life, finding time is not a struggle nor a task but a gift to slow down in the midst of a hectic day. Simply put, she’s “in this for the cure,” as this work is both a professional path and a personal journey.
Annie authors a monthly newsletter, MindfulMe, where you can access reflections and mindfulness tools for daily use. She is currently accepting new clients and can be reached here for those wishing to use insurance or contact directly via email @ anniecshackelford@gmail.com.
