Join Donald Fleck and Michelle Morrison for a guided meditation workshop designed for both beginners and experienced meditators. Through practical techniques, you’ll learn to carry the wisdom in the sunrise with you, deepening your connection to life’s simple yet profound beauty.

For experienced and beginning meditators. Drawing on the wisdom of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Thich Nhat Hanh and Zindel Segal.

O’Brien, a former hospice nurse and author of “The Good Death: A Guide for Supporting Your Loved One Through the End of Life,” told me that many dying patients look back with longing on the more mundane parts of their routines, like walking their dogs or making pancakes on a Saturday morning.

“An easy way to remind yourself to be grateful for those everyday moments,” O’Brien added, is to try shifting your perspective: “Instead of telling myself, ‘I have to go to the gym,’ I’ll say, ‘I get to go to the gym,’” O’Brien said. “I stopped saying, ‘Oh, I have to go to the grocery store,’ and say, ‘I get to go to the grocery store.’”

Donald Fleck is a distinguished mindfulness meditation teacher with over 17 years of experience guiding individuals and a decade of mentoring in mindfulness. He is the author of the book Working the Present, endorsed by Zindel Segal, the co-founder of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). He is accredited by the Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute of the UCSD Medical School (MBPTI) as well as with the Centre for Mindfulness Studies (CMS) in Toronto. Donald has an AB degree in economics from Duke University and an MBA from Columbia University.

Michelle Morrison is a mindfulness meditation teacher certified by the UC Berkeley Greater Good Science Center. She has practiced mindfulness for over fifteen years and has taught meditation in private, corporate, and nonprofit settings since 2007. She leads our Free Friday Mindfulness program. She co-leads daylong retreats and classes for graduates of the MBCT workshop. Michelle credits yoga and mindfulness with helping her to meet life’s challenges with grace and resilience, and she is passionate about sharing these powerful resources with others.
